JOB SUMMARY
The main purpose of the job is to ensure quality Nutrition care services for vulnerable refugee and host populations in MTI operation in Ethiopia. This position will be responsible for ensuring adequate support of HC, HP, and communities where the project is located.
JOB RESPONSIBITIES
- Respect the dignity of beneficiaries, caretakers, and members of the community at all times.
- Responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of outreach workers and food disturbers at field level
- Compile data and information and accordingly report the progress to the Nutrition officer.
- Identify and refer children from the distribution sites to OTP or SC sites.
- Record, monitoring status data such as weight gains and feeding of children in the program.
- Fostering good relationships with community, community elders, community leaders and other health personnel to encourage good information sharing.
- Refer sever children who are under the SFP program to the OTP when necessary or visevers.
- In coordination with community outreach workers provide education to the community members on nutrition and health related issues.
- Involve in nutrition surveys as well as in other concern task when necessary.
- Record and keep admission, discharge, and death data to be submitted every week or month.
- Make sure that all equipment and materials kept clean and safe.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
This position requires frequent travel to health facilities located in remote areas with very basic living conditions.

Reports to (position): Nutrition Officer
Location(s): Metema
Workdays & Hours: Monday-Saturday, 40-48 hours/week, occasional weekends, and public holidays
Travel: Regular travel to field area
If Manager of Staff, Positions Supervised: (directly & indirectly) TBD
Job Requirements
- BSC degree on Health, Nutrition, or related field with more than 2 years’ work experience
- Diploma in nursing or public health with more than 5 years’ work experience.
- Training on the 2019 new SAM management Guideline is an added advantage.
- One year of experience on a related program
- TOT on 2019 National AM management protocol
- 2 years of professional experience after qualification with valid professional licence
- Experience in IYCF, BSFP/TSFP, OTP, and SC program is preferable.
- Knowledge of development & humanitarian issues and concepts
- Fluent spoken and written in Amharic and English.
- Strong interpersonal and team skills
- Proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations.
- Excellent communicator
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Negotiation and representation skills
- Analytical and problem-solving Computer literate, able to work efficiently in Microsoft office on standard or mobile platforms.
