Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Determine and sets health, safety, sanitation, and occupational health standards and enforces regulations concerned with food processing and serving, collection and disposal of solid wastes, sewage treatment and disposal, plumbing, vector contro
2. Responsible for the daily implementation and monitoring of the health care waste management plan.
3. Liaise with the medical and supply units to ensure that adequate supply of waste bags, containers, PPFs and collection trolleys are available at all
4. Ensure the availability and proper placement of bags/container
5. Provide technical support to all concerned and perform waste auditing activit
6. Assure that the proper process of linen collection from each medical department to the laundry and sorting, soaking, washing, drying and ironin
7. Conduct training on infection prevention and control activities according to Ethiopianinfection prevention guidelines.
8. Work on Infection Prevention and Safety of the Hospital
9. Ensure workplace is free from recognized hazards and comply with standards, rules and regulations of FD

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health or related field, preferred from a recognized higher institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as Environmental and Safety Officer preferably in Hospital setup progressively, responsible facility management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Current Professional license to practice in Ethiopia.
