Job Description:

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) strives to address nutrition and health-related problems by conducting intervention-based research and contributing to the effective implementation of the Food and Nutrition Policy in Ethiopia. To this end, the Food Science and Nutrition Research Directorate is planning to implement a National Food and nutrition survey. This survey will serve as a baseline for the implementation of the Food and Nutrition Strategy. The collectors/Supervisors will have the following responsibilities and requirements.

Job Requirements

 

BSc in Nutrition, nursing, or Health Officer with 0-year experience Applicants’ experience within the clinical setting is advantageous.

Language: Amharic and Tigrigna languages are advantageous.

Responsibilities:

1. All data collectors are responsible for the delimitation of enumeration areas, household listing, and entire data collection..

2. Data collection team will list all eligible households in the selected enumeration ureas.

3. Data collection team will visit the randomly selected households from the list of eligible households.

4. Identify the eligible household members.

5. Read the consent form and obtain informed consent from the selected respondents.

6. The interviewer should interview the mother/caregiver of all selected children in the household and accurately record their responses.

7. Review each questionnaire on the tablet prior to leaving the survey respondents’ house and make sure all questions are answered correctly

 

8. Follow up with selected mothers/caregivers/children who not present during the initial interview to ensure all the required information is completed.

9. Measure, height, weight, and MUAC of mother and children.

10. Collect blood, stool and salt sample from selected households 11. Test anaemia and malaria status of a selected household member

12. Conduct 24 hr recall assessment in the selected household.

13. Willing to takeadditional activities that will be given by project coordinator or supervisor.
