1. Position: Outreach Nurses

.

Job Overview/ Summary

 

The outreach nurses will be responsible to plan, execute and monitor cervical cancer screening and treatment outreach project activities in Addis Ababa. The outreach nurses will be reporting to the project coordinator.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Raise the awareness of the community on cervical cancer prevention and cervical cancer screening services

• Provide clinical mentorship for VIA screening service providers to give quality service

• Strengthen the OPD linkages to cervical cancer screening room

• Distribute IEC/BCC materials

• Provide cervical cancer screening service in outreaches

• Ensure forms are completed and weekly reports are send on time

• Follow the progress of patients sent for referral

• Support women and girls to adjust attitudes and behaviors through counseling services

• Prepare monthly/quarterly report to the project coordinator about progress, challenges, and any other issues pertaining to his/her duties.

• Organize and facilitate awareness raising sessions

• Perform additional tasks assigned by the project coordinator

Job Requirement

• B.sc/diploma in nursing with a minimum of one year of experience

• Previous experience in providing outreach health services will be desired

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other information processing software.

• Strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

• Fluency in written and spoken English and Amharic.

2. Position: MHNT Nurse

.

Job Overview/ Summary

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Provide essential lifesaving primary health care services to displaced people and people who have no access to health services.

• Provide technical support and participating in essential lifesaving primary health care services to people who have no access to primary health care services in IDPs and far to reach areas.

• Improving basic preventive health care at community level with emphasis health, immunization, and nutrition services.

• Conduct & undertake PHC like consultation & provide proper treatment based on the protocol

• Strengthening of linkages and coordination mechanisms between

community and the Woreda health bureaus.

• Strengthening of early referrals mechanism.

• Train and support the HEWs in case management and follow-up according to national guidelines.

• Train and support community-based volunteer health workers for the project implementation

• Assisting the planning and promotion of awareness creation on nutrition and preventative health care issues in the community.

• Control the supply of equipments & check the medication and medical supply stock out

• Support the health professionals assigned in the IDP clinics

• Asses and work with possible resource mobilization with WOH

• identify and priorities major health issues regularly and communicate with relevant stakeholders

• Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings, workshops, etc.

• Determining project changes like budget revisions are well done according to the budget time frame and activity and communicate to the project coordinator

Job Requirement

• B.sc/M.sc in nursing with a minimum of two years of experience for B.sc and one year for M.sc

3. Position: MHNT Pharmacist

.

Job Overview/ Summary

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Set up and manage the medical warehouse, optimizing medicine storage conditions and organization to ensure safety and effectiveness of drugs and medical supplies

• Responsible to handle the prepositioned medical drugs and supplies properly

• Ensures daily update bin cards and stock cards; supplies are released with approved stock release formats and proper documentation

• Ensures accurate quantification and procurement planning including sourcing for health commodities

• Ensures field-based consumption reporting are completed in a timely manner and advise on rational use of medicines based on this.

• Ensures high quality standards of health commodity management are met including Good Distribution Practices — which will include warehousing, cold chain management, stock rotation and control, consumption monitoring and ordering.

• Ensure accurate reporting of drug movement stocks and consumption

• Ensures compliance with transport activity for medical items with national and international legislations and customs.

• Supervises MHNT to ensuring safe and accurate dispensing process and patients are counselled on how to take prescribed treatment providing capacity building where required

• Monitors medication safety across the primary health care teams’

• Oversees medication use in the field

• Carry out any other tasks as required in line with the technical area.

Job Requirement

• Bsc/diploma in Pharmacy with COC certificate and a minimum of 2 years’ experience

• Experience in monitoring rational use of medication is desired

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other information processing software.

• Strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

4. Position: MHNT Laboratory technician

.

Job Overview/ Summary

 

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to

• Facilitate mobile health and nutrition activities through sample specimen collection like; blood drawing of patients for laboratory investigations.

• Provide different sample testing like; blood, stool, urine for the IDPs

• Facilitate essential reagents, supplies and diagnostic products for the team

• Maintain appropriate utilization of laboratory equipment.

• Apply manual and automated testing procedures and uses correct methods for handling specimens

• Regulate /caliber laboratory instrument to ensure and maintain quality services.

• Investigation and interpretation of collected samples.

• ensure accurate records and reporting of data and reporting lab results

• Work closely as team with mobile health and nutrition teams and governmental health staffs

• Ensure application of national laboratory protocol throughout laboratory investigation.

• Organize daily, weekly and monthly over view and reports of Lab investigations.

• Ensure referral system and linkage between services and with the health facilities.

• Provide technical assignee for MHNT health staffs.

• Participate in capacity-building training and health education sessions.

• Work on any tasks assigned by the project coordinator and the organization

5. Position: MHNT Midwife

.

Job Overview/ Summary

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Improving basic preventive health care among the IDP in line with public health emergency management with emphasis on preventing maternal and new born deaths.

• Conduct & undertake family health services

• Provide ANC, PNC, delivery and essential new born care.

• Provide iron supplementation, TT vaccine, FP counseling

• Strengthening of early referrals mechanism all obstetrics complications and other maternal and child health illnesses.

• Ensure all referral cases are properly transported to the nearest health facility based on the availability of ambulance and seriousness of the illness.

• Strengthening of linkages and coordination mechanisms between community and the Woreda health bureaus.

•  Support HWs and HEWS on how to provide quality maternal and child health services.

• Conduct planning and promotion of awareness creation on nutrition and preventative health care issues in the community

 

Job Requirement

• B.sc/M.sc in midwifery with a minimum of two years of experience for B.sc and one for M.sc

6. Position: MHNT General Practitioner

.

Job Overview/ Summary

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Participate in Mobile Health and Nutrition Team to provide essential lifesaving primary health care services to displaced people and people who have no access to health services.

• Provide technical support and participate in carrying out all components of MNCH packages (ANC, PNC, FP, PMTCT, labor and delivery, EPI)

• Organize daily, weekly and monthly over view and reports of OTP, EPI, health education and consultations through using Mobile Health and nutrition standards.

• Ensure referral system and linkage between different services and with the health facilities

• Adherence to medical and nutritional treatment protocols and procedures for children and infants.

• Mentoring and assist HEW in decision of patients who are at severe risks and need to be transferred to nearby hospital

• Participate in capacity building training, in health education sessions and BCC application

• Work any tasks assigned by the project coordinator

Job Requirement

• A university degree in medicine with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other information processing software.

• Strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

• Fluency in written and spoken English and Amharic.
