Job Description

ETS is dedicated to fostering collaboration locally and internationally, actively working to expand its network.

Job summary: The Health Project Officer will play a pivotal role in coordinating and implementing health projects, ensuring their successful execution and alignment with organizational objectives. Responsibilities include project planning, stakeholder engagement, resource management, coordination, prepare reports maintaining provided timeline, documentation and record management, and monitoring project progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public health, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Job description: the position holder is responsible for;

  • Project Planning and Implementation:
  • Prepare activity plans in alignment with the project plan.
  • Utilize project monitoring tools and develop additional tools as necessary.
  • Oversee data collection processes and ensure the accuracy and completeness of project data.
  • Conduct data analysis to assess project outcomes and inform decision-making.
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure timely execution.
  • Conduct on-site visits to supervise the work of health professionals at project sites.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the pathway for screening, diagnosis, and management of lung cancer patients.
  • Coordinate psychosocial services for patients.
  • Participate in health communication and promotion activities.
  • Coordinate mentorship activities.
  • Conduct measurements and assessments of project milestones.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance project effectiveness.
  • Facilitate referral and linkage of patients with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project partners, stakeholders, and government bodies to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops with the program team.
  • Work closely with concerned government bodies such as the MoH, BoFED, AACAHB and other regional health bureaus.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare reports according to provided templates or donor requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to project activities.
  • Prepare presentations and participate in review meetings to disseminate project findings and updates.
  • Ensure proper utilization of project funds and adherence to financial procedures.
  • Regularly review project processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Document best practices and lessons learned from project implementation

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Undertake any additional project activities as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Participate in grant proposal development.
  • Coordinate Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
  • Engage in organizational societal activities.
  • Contribute to organizational capacity development initiatives
  • Participate in research activities

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences; Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in project coordination, preferably in healthcare or public health.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Experience in grant proposal development and reporting preferred.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare system and government structures.
