Do you have a BSc Degree in a relevant discipline (Environmental health, Public Health, Community Health, water supply sanitation, Nursery, Medical, Social Science)?
Do you have substantial experience in Public Health Promotion with 2-3 years of experience preferably in the NGO Sector?

The Role:
The main purpose of this position is to provide technical support to local partners on water sanitation hygiene programs ensuring quality, community-based intervention that considers sustainable coping mechanisms in the current Tigray conflict, building the capacity of the IDPs, affected host communities to create better awareness in Water hygiene and sanitation. Particularly, the work requires providing and/or supervising the provision of technical support and assistance to the local partner’s project within an area of specialism. in close coordination with the PHP team and ensuring community participation and integration with EFSL, Gender, and protection.

Job requirements
.
An ideal candidate for the role will also be/have:
- BSc Degree in a relevant discipline (Environmental Health, Public Health, Community Health, water supply sanitation, Nursery, Medical, Social Science) or substantial experience in Public Health Promotion with 2-3 years of experience preferably in the NGO Sector.
- Proven technical skills – various PHP approaches (preferably in the Tigray region context)
- Practical experience and understanding of community mobilization about water and sanitation activities in humanitarian programs, specifically for IDPs residing at a concentration camp and integrated with the host community.
- Knowledge of and commitment to humanitarian principles (NGO/ Red Cross Code of Conduct) and with the Sphere Humanitarian Charter minimum standards.
- Ability to be self-initiative and able to work under minimum supervision.
- Good spoken and written English and the ability to communicate fluently in the local language will be highly beneficial (e.g., Tigrigna)
- Knowledge of preparation of IEC material for promoting key public health practices
- Good knowledge of supervision techniques
- Able to travel and work in conflict-affected areas
- Sensitivity to cultural differences, and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts
