About the Implementing Organization:

 

Relief and Development for Vulnerable (RDV) is a non-governmental, non-profit making, non-political and non-religious Civil Society Organization (CSO), initiated by multidisciplinary pastoral background youth, committed to contribute to living condition of marginalized, vulnerable and fragile part of pastoral community.  RDV is registered under the Ethiopian Authority for civil society organization proclamation no. 113/2019. RDV envisions sustained and self reliant pastoralist livelihoods. It mission is to ensure healthy and prosperous pastoral and agro-pastoral societies in Somali region through provision of basic service, sustainable livelihoods and social empowerment for all vulnerable groups (particularly women, children and differently-abled) living in the Somali Region of Ethiopia.

About the project:

 

Led by FHID360, Relief and Development for Vulnerable (RDV) is planning to implement Feed the Future Ethiopia Community Nutrition Activity that aims to improve the nutritional status of women and children through increased and sustained improvements in nine high-impact behaviors that have proven highly effective in reducing malnutrition. These objectives will be realized through enhanced individual and community agency and demand for services, improved access to quality nutrition services at the community level, and improved capacity and coordination among nutrition stakeholders across sectors,

The Job Description:

  • Facilitate planned SBC and Community engagement trainings in target kebeles.
  • Disseminate and report SBC materials.
  • Pre-test SBC materials.
  • Facilitate the nutrition catchment-based mentorship assessments at PHCU level.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary nutrition commodities and supplies (VAS, IFA Deworming and so on) at each respective facility.
  • Facilitate Food and Nutrition assessments and surveys in target woreda kebeles
  • Conduct participatory exercise to develop action plans to address multisectoral coordination gaps in the respective woreda.
  • Provide logistical and other support for woreda-level advocacy meetings on establishment of FN structure and manpower in food and nutrition strategy (FNS) implementing sectors at Woreda and Kebele levels
  • Facilitate the overall multisectoral coordination related activities in the target kebeles of the Woreda.
  • Facilitate compilation and sharing of monthly and quarterly reporting at woreda and kebele levels.
  • Work with Community Kebele and Woreda level stakeholders, and collaborate with LIP, MEL and Project Coordinator to document community, facility and woreda level activities and report according to standard procedure
  • Document best practices, minutes of performance review meetings and JSS outcomes, and share the findings to the Project Coordinator.
  • Facilitate LME activities of the project including data collection, analysis and reporting of data/, support all assessments designed in the woreda, conduct DQAs at the woreda level and health facilities, HMIS and eCHIS related training in the target Woreda.
  • Integrate and conduct GYSI activities including mapping and collaborating youth networks.
  • Ensure the Implementation of Community Nutrition GYSI integration strategy.
  • Represent community Nutrition at Woreda level.
  • Provide need based technical assistance to woreda health offices.
  • Document and update the woreda profile.

Job Requirements

Qualification: BScin Healthand Nutrition studies

 

Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experiencein Health and Nutrition related projects.

 

Skills Required:

  •  Experience in Community Nutrition
  •  Training certification in attending Health and nutrition.
  • Creativity and ability to work with limited resources.

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Community Nutrition
  • Experience of facilitating community mobilization, coordination and conversations
  • Motor bike driving license.
