OWS Development Fund (OWS DF) is a vibrant independent non-profit organization implementing lifesaving emergency projects and development programs in different parts of the country. OWS Development Fund strives to mitigate human suffering as a result of natural and man-made catastrophes as well as empower the community to get out of the cycle of poverty. Focusing on hard to reach and remote areas OWS Development Fund targets vulnerable and marginalized segment of the society. Thus, with the aim to further advance OWS DF operations we are looking for a qualified & skilled staff for ‘CMAM Nurse’ position.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated CMAM Nurse to join our team in Gablalu. This role plays a vital role in managing and treating children suffering from severe acute malnutrition. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in pediatrics and a commitment to improving child health outcomes.

Project Overview:
OWS DF would like to hire a qualified CMAM Nurse for an EHF-funded project titled “CBPF-ETH-24-S-NGO-27680 Intersectoral response to reduce malnutrition in drought and conflict affected people in Gablalu Woreda, Somali Region.”

 

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct screenings to identify children with SAM.
Provide therapeutic milk formula and nutritional counseling to malnourished children and their caregivers.
Monitor and track the progress of children enrolled in the CMAM program.
Educate caregivers on proper infant feeding practices and hygiene to prevent malnutrition.
Collaborate with physicians, nutritionists, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
Stay up to date on the latest guidelines and best practices in CMAM.

 

Job requirements

.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a valid license to practice nursing in Ethiopia.
Experience working with children in a clinical setting is preferred.
Strong understanding of child growth and development, and the principles of CMAM.
Excellent assessment, monitoring, and intervention skills.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, particularly with children and families.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations.
Desirable
Knowledge of internally displaced persons operations; knowledge of the area is an added advantage.
Experience in designing and facilitating training sessions.
Experience in working in an insecure environment
Knowledge of the Somali region socio-culture and local language where the post is located
