OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
To support the achievement of national health and development agenda, the programme management function will be instrumental in the WHO Country Office in ensuring strategic and operational planning, programme budgeting, resource distribution, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and contributing towards resource mobilization efforts while ensuring strict adherence to organizational guidelines and standards. The unit will contribute towards better integration, collaboration and planning for results and ensuring performance assessment is conducted on timely basis and results are reported.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIESUnder the direct supervision of the Head of WHO’s Country Office, and the overall guidance of the Director Programme Management (DPM), the incumbent is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to the following duties:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: Masters level university degree in public health. Candidates with a university degree in business or public administration, social sciences or related field may apply provided they have at least seven years of relevant work experience in an international health organization
ExperienceEssential: At least 7 years of relevant experience at the national or international levels in programme management in a public health context.
Desirable: Prior relevant experience working with WHO, other UN Agency or health-sector international Organization in planning, monitoring and evaluation. Experience in emergency settings would be an asset.
Skills• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in results-based management in the health sector.

Desirable: Beginners knowledge of Other WHO Language.REMUNERATIONWHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 77,326 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 3963 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
