The primary function of the GBV- Intern is to support GBV Addis and field team in following up different programmatic and operation activities. The Intern will closely work with the GBV Specialist and GBV Manager to ensure the program activity and budget is going as planned. The intern is expected to perform activities by closely working with IMC logistic, HR, Program units and field teams.

The intern will be communicating with field GBV managers to follow up on pending activities and actions that needs to be taken at Addis Level.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the GBV Program Manager, the intern will be responsible to facilitate program activities and support the GBV Addis and field team.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES

·         In close collaboration with the GBV Managers and GBV Specialist, the intern will follow up activities

·         Support GBV Addis Team in raising PRs and engage with field teams to provide support regarding facilitation of PRs and follow up on procurement of items on time.

·         Communicate with field GBV managers in case there is required assistance from Addis team

·         Support GBV manager and specialist in compiling reports and reminding field teams to send reports timely.

·         Work closely with IMC Logistic, HR, Finance and other program units.

·         Organize March 8 and 16 days campaigns in the collaboration with GBV team

·         Assist the GBV team in preparation of Success stories

Job Requirements

  • BA from accredited universities in Social Work, Public Health, Sociology, or related field.

 

  • 0-1 Year Maximum (Ability to work in a stressful situation can do multi-task, excellent analytical/statistical skills, very good writing skills, team player, and problem solver
  • Experience in volunteer/ internship experience in working with Gender, SRH, Human Rights or Health Clubs, and other social engagements.
  • Interested to work with large number of teams in the field and able to communicate both verbally and written.

 

  • Conduct simple data analysis and present findings.
  • Support GBV Addis Team in raising Purchase Requests, coordinate with Logistic, HR and other program team and follow up activities.
  • Interested to learn GBV programming and support GBV Addis Team in taking minutes, communicating with other programs, and coordinating activities.
  • Familiarity with standards and guidelines for GBV programming and coordination as well as guidance on protection from SEA
  • It is desirable if the candidate is familiar with international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficient in computer applications, especially with MS Word and MS Excel
